Autologous Fibroblast Therapy

Autologous Fibroblast Therapy

Autologous Fibroblast Therapy involves harvesting a tiny tissue sample from behind your ear, multiplying your own collagen-producing cells (fibroblasts) in a GMP laboratory, and re-injecting millions of them into your skin. It is a biological time machine designed to increase your skin’s regenerative capacity naturally.

⚠️ Important Note This is NOT the Plasma Pen procedure. Often confused by name, the Plasma Pen is a device that burns the skin surface. Our therapy is a cellular bio-engineering protocol involving tissue culture and injection, performed by a medical doctor.

What Is Autologous Fibroblast Therapy?

Over time, the number of fibroblast cells—the factories that produce collagen and elastin—declines. This therapy replenishes that reserve. We take young, sun-protected cells from behind your ear, expand them in a laboratory, and reintroduce them to your face, neck, or hands.

The Key Difference:

Why Is It a “Biological Investment”?

This treatment is not off-the-shelf. It is 100% personalized.

  1. Fully Autologous: Both the cells and the serum used to culture them come from you. Zero risk of allergy.
  2. Multiplication: The 4–6 week lab process turns a tiny tissue sample into tens of millions of active, youthful cells ready to work on your skin.

Who Is This Treatment For ?

The Process: A 4-Stage Journey

  1. Holistic Preparation: Healthy cells come from a healthy body. Dr. Ömer Fatih Şahin reviews your blood work (Iron, Vitamin D, etc.) and may recommend supplements or IV therapy to optimize your cell quality before the biopsy.
  2. Biopsy (15 Minutes): Under local anesthesia, a small tissue sample (3-4 mm) is taken from behind the ear. It is painless and requires no stitches.
  3. Laboratory Expansion (4–6 Weeks): Your tissue is sent to a Ministry of Health-approved GMP lab. Your fibroblasts are separated and multiplied into millions.
  4. Injection Protocol (2-3 Sessions): The produced cells are injected into the skin in 2-3 sessions, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Approximately 20-50 million fresh cells are delivered to the skin in each session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Autologous Fibroblast vs. Alloblast (Newborn Cells): Which is better?

I am over 50. Are my cells too old to work?

Not at all. We harvest tissue from behind the ear—an area protected from sun damage and aging. The cells there are biologically younger than your facial cells. Furthermore, the laboratory process selects and multiplies only the healthiest, most active cells to re-inject.

Will this make my face look puffy?

No. This is not a dermal filler. It does not add artificial volume or change your facial features. It rebuilds the skin’s internal structure, resulting in firmer, tighter skin without the pillow face look.

Is there a cancer risk?

No. Fibroblasts are mature cells, not embryonic stem cells. They do not have the capacity to mutate into tumors. The laboratory process only multiplies their number; it does not alter their DNA. It is a strictly controlled, safe medical procedure.

Is it effective for Acne Scars?

Yes. It is one of the gold-standard biological treatments for deep acne scars. By injecting new collagen-producing cells directly into the scars, we help rebuild the tissue from underneath, smoothing the skin surface naturally.

When will I see results?

This is a slow beauty process. You may see a glow after the first month, but the real structural remodeling (tightening and lifting) peaks around Month 6 after the collagen network has been rebuilt.

How long do the results last?

The cells we inject continue to live in your skin. It effectively turns back your skin’s biological clock by several years. Results are typically enjoyed for 3–5 years, depending on your lifestyle.

How is it different from SVF (Stem Cell) Therapy?

SVF is a same-day procedure utilizing fat tissue. Autologous Fibroblast takes weeks of lab culture to produce pure collagen-building cells. If your main concern is specific scar repair or pure collagen loss, Fibroblast is extremely targeted.

Where can it be applied?

Apart from the face, it is excellent for the neck, décolleté, and hands—areas that often reveal age the most.

Can I fly back home between sessions?

Since the protocol requires 3 sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart, it is best suited for expats living in Istanbul or patients who can travel frequently. If you need a one-visit solution, ask us about SVF Therapy instead.
