Uzm. Dr. Ömer Fatih Şahin

I am a specialist in Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, working in medical aesthetics and wellness. At my practice in Nişantaşı, Istanbul, I combine botox, fillers, mesotherapy, biostimulators and cellular treatments with ozone and functional medicine approaches. My IV therapy work continues under IV Point.

Education and career

I graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine on 1 July 2009. After a short period working in emergency medicine, I began my specialty training.

Between 2010 and 2014 I completed my specialty training in Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine. That period set the direction of my career: I spent two years working at the same university’s Algology Clinic and its Ozone Application and Research Centre. The idea of combining conventional medicine with integrative methods took shape there.

Between 2014 and 2017 I worked as an anaesthesiology specialist at Diyarbakır Bismil State Hospital, where my work developed with an emphasis on algology. My publications from those years are on caudal epidural steroid injection and regional anaesthesia blocks.

From 2014 onwards I took training in medical aesthetics, mesotherapy, ozone and functional medicine in Turkey and abroad, and attended international congresses. I followed the module programme of the Functional Medicine Academy between 2018 and 2020, and completed the Ministry of Health approved ozone and mesotherapy certificate programmes of the University of Health Sciences.

Between 2018 and 2020 I worked as a specialist in anaesthesiology and intensive care at Özel Güngören Hospital. Those years in adult intensive care are the foundation of my experience in vascular access and fluid and electrolyte balance.

In the final years of that period I moved towards medical aesthetics while continuing my hospital role: between 2019 and 2020 I worked in medical aesthetics and wellness at a private clinic in Etiler, Istanbul. In 2020 I left my hospital post and opened my own practice in Nişantaşı, giving it my full time.

My clinical approach

I am an anaesthesiologist working in medical aesthetics and wellness. Holding those three together is not accidental — my whole way of working comes out of that intersection.

I did not come to this field from aesthetics

I spent years in intensive care, with patients at their most physiologically stretched and where every organ affects every other. The time I spent in the algology clinic and the ozone centre during my specialty training added to that.

My move into medical aesthetics happened for two reasons. The first is temperament: a way of working that is one-to-one, unhurried and personal suits me better. The second is how I see aesthetics — here I can use medicine alongside proportion, balance and naturalness.

Over time I realised what I was actually looking for was something else: to affect someone’s life as a whole, not through a single procedure. Intensive care taught me that every organ is in conversation with every other; functional medicine training let me translate that into clinical practice.

Skin health first, then the procedure

At the centre of my approach is this: if your skin is not healthy, no procedure performed on top of it will give a real result.

So when I look at skin I assess not only the surface but circulation, inflammation and cellular energy. I aim to restore the skin’s physiological health first; procedures come after that. Treatments that skip this order look good in the short term and do not hold.

My work runs along two lines for that reason: on one side treatments such as exosomes, fibroblasts and biostimulators that activate the skin’s own repair mechanism; on the other, ozone and IV support that work on the body from within. I plan them together rather than separately.

My aim is skin longevity: not a claim to stop ageing, but the skin maintaining its own quality over the long term.

What a natural result means

My aim is not to change anyone’s face. Rather than making you resemble someone else, I work on bringing you to the best version of your own age and keeping it there as long as possible. For that reason I am not enthusiastic about excessive requests, and I say so from the outset.

What being an anaesthetist brings in practice

A light hand. I have worked with needles and syringes for years. That makes treatments less painful and more comfortable.

Attention to sterility and reactions. Anticipating and managing a possible reaction is a natural part of anaesthesia. I work with the same reflex.

A command of the whole body. Intensive care teaches you to look at the whole system rather than one organ. Combined with my functional medicine training, it lets me assess the person in front of me as a whole, not only their skin.

I carry out medical aesthetic treatments under the Aesthetic and Cosmetic Applications Certificate of the Turkish Ministry of Health. I also hold Ministry-approved certificates for ozone, mesotherapy and acupuncture.

Fewer procedures, more conversation

One of the first things you learn in anaesthesiology is knowing when an intervention is not needed.

I listen first. I make no plan without discussing your concerns, your expectations and why you want what you want. I do not recommend a treatment I do not think is necessary — more often than not, I recommend less than what was asked for.

You can find everything I offer on the treatments page. The two that overlap most directly with my background in anaesthesiology and algology are migraine botox and masseter botox; volume and contour work is covered under dermal fillers.

The clinic and the area

The clinic is on Abdi İpekçi Caddesi in Harbiye, Nişantaşı — the district most associated with fashion and design in Istanbul, and one of the calmest central neighbourhoods in the city.

For visitors, the practical point is that it is central. Taksim Square is one metro stop away on the M2 line from Osmanbey, or roughly a twenty-minute walk. Maçka Park, the Istanbul Congress Centre and the Dolmabahçe area are all within walking distance, and most hotels in Taksim, Şişli and Beşiktaş are a short taxi ride away. If you are combining a treatment with a day in the city, you are not making a special journey for it.

This is a boutique practice, not a high-volume centre. I see a limited number of patients a day, every consultation and treatment is carried out by me personally, and appointments are scheduled with enough time that nothing is rushed. That is a deliberate choice about how I want to work rather than a stage of growth.

For international patients

A significant part of my patients are people living in Istanbul as foreign residents or visiting the city.

We work in English. I speak English, and so does the clinic nurse who assists during treatments. You can also call the clinic directly in English before booking — you will not be routed through an agency or a call centre, and nothing is lost in translation at the consultation.

Licensed for international patients. The clinic holds an International Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health (No. ST-3245). This is a licence granted to clinics authorised to treat patients from abroad, and it is worth checking for wherever you are considering treatment in Turkey.

Most treatments are same-day. Injectable treatments require no recovery period and no extended stay, and flying afterwards does not affect the result. If you are here for a few days, we plan around your schedule.
